Webinar: Whistleblowing systems – deadline for implementation is approaching
On 2 February you have yet another an opportunity to participate in a webinar featuring WhistleB, explaining the implications of the EU Whistleblower Directive on whistleblowing systems.
Background
On 16 December 2019 the EU Whistleblower Protection Directive (2019/1937/EU) came into force. EU member states have until the end of 2021 to implement the directive in their own national laws. However, EU member states and organisations should think about the directive’s implementation now because companies have a number of tasks ahead of them.
Pursuant to the directive, companies with 250 employees or more must establish a secure reporting system for whistleblowers by 17 December 2021. The deadline for smaller companies with 50 to 250 employees is 17 December 2023. Companies that miss these deadlines risk incurring penalties.
What will the webinar cover?
What do the new obligations consist of and when will they apply? How can EU member states and companies implement them in practice? How can they choose the right whistleblowing system?
Together with German law firm SKW Schwarz, WhistleB’s Jan Tadeusz Stappers will give an overview of the legal framework and provide helpful practical tips.
